Robert F Thompson MD FACS

Dr. Thompson graduated magna cum laude in 1981 from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree with high honors in 1985 from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a prestigious medical honor society. Dr. Thompson completed internship in General Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1986 and residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the prestigous Cincinnati Children's Hospital in 1990. Cincinnati Children's Hospital operates one of the busiest pediatric ENT program in the country. Dr. Thompson entered professional practice in Overland Park in July 1990. The scope of his surgical experience is diverse and extensive. He enjoys all aspects of his specialty.

Dr. Thompson is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and licensed by both the Kansas and Missouri State Boards of Healing Arts. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Thompson maintains memberships in a number of professional organizations including the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Kansas Medical Society, the Johnson County Medical Society and the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.

In 1995, Dr. Thompson was picked as one of the top local ENT physician's in the magazine "The Other Side." Dr. Thompson is the founder of Head and Neck Surgery of Kansas City, P.A. He is a past Chairman of Surgery at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Dr. Thompson and his wife Karen have three daughters and one son.
